Lemon Pound Cake


3 cups sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 sticks butter 1/2 cup vegetable shortening (Crisco) 5 eggs 2 tablespoons lemon flavoring 1 cup of milk 3 cups all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Cream Sugar, Salt, butter and shortening. Add eggs 1 at a time. Add lemon flavoring. Add 2 cups flour and mix well. Add 1 cup of milk. Put baking powder in last cup of flour and add last cup to mixture.

Grease and flour a bundt pan and pour in mixture. bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until toothpick comes out clean.

Icing 1/2 stick butter 1 box confectioners sugar Add lemon juice until spreadable
